Swallows

Autumn 2023: The Swallows class has 7 Year 1 and 9 Year 2 children at present. We look at each child as an individual and try very hard to best suit their stage and optimum pace of learning with a personalised approach to their development.

The children have an exciting and varied curriculum including Read Write Inc; our Phonics, reading and writing programme as well as White Rose our Maths Programme. (See Curriculum tab).

This year in Swallows, we will be exploring three exciting projects. We will begin by studying coasts and seaside holidays. In Spring, we will explore the history of flight in our project 'Up, Up & Away' and finally, in the summer, we will finish with a local based project called 'More Chalk, Less Talk' in which we will focus on the history of Ravensden School and schooling for children in the past.

We will engage in a number of learning experiences linked to our projects including trips to Shuttleworth and the British Schools museum.
