Ravensden Primary Pre-School- Wrens Class

Our Pre-School was established in September 2011 with a small staff and 4 children. It is now a thriving setting with children aged two to four years old. Mrs Palliser (EYFS Lead), Mrs Hill, Mrs Mistry, Mrs Wade, Mrs Paton and Miss Morris support all of the children to flourish. 

Ravensden Primary Pre-school is based in a separate building and is called 'The Nest'. This homes pre-school and reception classes. It offers an exciting, inspiring nurturing and caring education for all . It is open full time, 5 days a week, during school term-time. The setting thrives under the excellent guidance of a dedicated, creative and inspirational staff with enthusiastic, creative and happy children. Wrap around care is available when your child is 3.

The Pre-school has a well resourced, exciting room with a secure outside area through large bi-fold doors. It provides a stimulating and creative learning environment both indoors and outdoors following the Early Years curriculum. We join together with the main school for various activities and enjoyed taking part in our whole school VE Day celebrations recently. We value the importance of working in partnership with our parents who are invited to ‘stay and play’ sessions, open mornings, themed celebrations,  as well as regular opportunities for parents to consult staff about their child’s needs and progress towards the early learning goals.

The pre-school and the reception class work closely together and often take part in  joint learning activities together and days out. Pre-school children joined the reception class recently visiting Summerfields miniature railways for an exciting train ride! Staff in both classes work closely together to support with transition between classes and staff meet regularly for joint training sessions and to ensure the children in pre-school benefit from the latest teaching and learning opportunities. 

Financial Support:

If you have a limited income you may be able to access additional support for your 2 year old by applying for ‘Two Year Old funding’.  Also financial help for Pre-school to support children aged 3 Years and over is given through the ‘Early Years Premium’.  Just ask the school office on 01234 771316 or the Pre-School staff.
