Ravensden Primary Pre-School- Wrens Class

Our Pre-School was established in September 2011 with a small staff and 4 children. It is now a thriving setting with  children  aged two to four years old. Mrs Nokes (Pre-school Leader) and her 2 very well qualified assistant staff: Mrs Alexander, Miss Tomlin run the Pre-school. The Headteacher and Governing Body lead and manage the setting which is an important part of Ravensden Church of England Primary School.

Ravensden Primary Pre-school is a based in a separate bespoke new building in the school grounds. It offers a very good education, care and nurture for up to 24 children a session . It is open three full days Tues, Weds & Thurs as well as two mornings Mon & Fri each week  during school term-time. The setting thrives under the excellent guidance of a dedicated, creative and inspirational staff with enthusiastic, creative and happy children.

The Pre-school has a well resourced, exciting room with a secure outside area through large bi-fold doors. It provides a stimulating and creative learning environment both indoors and outdoors following the 2013 Early Years curriculum. We have very close links between the setting and school and, most importantly, with our parents who have regular ‘come and play’ sessions, open mornings, themed celebrations  as well as regular opportunities for parents to consult staff about their child’s needs and progress towards the early learning goals.

The Pre-school and reception class in  school work closely together and have  joint activities and close links  as well as joint training sessions to ensure the children in Pre-School benefit from the latest teaching and learning opportunities. It also enables children in Pre-school to transfer to the main school  with ease as they are very familiar with the Reception classroom and staff as well as the common ‘Values’ ethos.
